Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. A broad concert hall

The hall is wide and low on its city square, with a glazed front and vertical stone bays. Print friendly adapts the smaller details; a larger print keeps those features crisp.

  2. Layers for the roofline

The roofline and terrace edges are the finest horizontal lines. Use 0.12 to 0.16 mm layers to keep them sharp, and slow the print near the top.

  3. One piece with the ground

The Gewandhaus Leipzig is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  4. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  5. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Gewandhaus Leipzig takes the building color.

  6. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About the Gewandhaus Leipzig

The Gewandhaus is a concert hall in Leipzig, where the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra performs. The present building is the third to carry the name, and like the second it is known for fine acoustics. Its site lies on Augustusplatz, where the eastern stretch of the inner city ring road runs, and it opened on October 8, 1981, two hundred years after the orchestra moved into the original hall.

The first hall was built in 1781 inside a building used by cloth merchants, with Johann Carl Friedrich Dauthe as architect. Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5 premiered there in 1811, and Felix Mendelssohn became director in 1835. The second hall, designed by Martin Gropius, opened on December 11, 1884, and was badly hit when Leipzig was firebombed in World War II. Its ruins were demolished on March 29, 1968.

Rudolf Skoda, a Leipzig native, designed the current hall, and Kurt Masur laid its foundation stone on November 8, 1977. During construction, East German Nationale Volksarmee soldiers filled the hall several times to test its sound at full capacity. It seats 1,900 and holds a concert organ by Schuke with 6,845 pipes.
