Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Church details at scale
A church model loses its smallest architectural detail first. Print friendly adapts those parts to a small print; Full detail keeps them for a larger print or a finer nozzle.
- Layers for tall walls
Layers of 0.12–0.16 mm keep vertical wall lines crisp. A larger print holds the finest detail better.
- One piece with the ground
St. Thomas Church, Leipzig is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. St. Thomas Church, Leipzig takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About St. Thomas Church, Leipzig
St. Thomas Church belongs to the Lutheran tradition in Leipzig, Germany. It occupies the western stretch of Leipzig's inner city ring road, in the central district. Martin Luther preached there in 1539, and the church is associated with several composers, above all Johann Sebastian Bach, who served as its Thomaskantor, or music director, from 1723 to 1750, the year of his death. Bach is buried in the church.
The present hall church went up between 1482 and 1496, replacing a Romanesque nave, and it was consecrated by Thilo of Trotha, Bishop of Merseburg, on April 10, 1496. Its tower dates from 1537 and was rebuilt in 1702. Allied incendiary bombs damaged the church in 1943, yet it still reads mainly as a late-Gothic hall church.
The church is 76 meters (249 ft) long, with a nave 25 meters (82 ft) wide, and the tower reaches 68 meters (223 ft). Its roof is unusually steep, with a pitch of 63 degrees. The Thomanerchor, the boys' choir, was likely founded in 1212. Bach's remains were moved to the church in 1950.
