230 m of Heron Tower, 62 mm on your shelf
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- The mast on the crown
The tower ends in a thin mast, the part most likely to lose shape. Print slowly with good cooling, and keep layers at 0.12 to 0.16 mm so the crown stays sharp.
- Tall and slender
The model is tall and slim, so its narrow shaft has far to travel. A larger print, with Full detail, keeps the crown and the facade lines clean.
- One piece with the ground
Heron Tower is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Heron Tower takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About Heron Tower
Heron Tower, formally 110 Bishopsgate, is a commercial skyscraper in London, also known informally as Salesforce Tower. Its height, mast included, is 230 meters (755 ft), with the mast accounting for 28 meters (92 ft). It is the fifth tallest building in the United Kingdom, after the Shard, Landmark Pinnacle, One Canada Square and 22 Bishopsgate, and the second tallest in the City of London's financial district. Camomile Street, Outwich Street and Houndsditch bound the site off Bishopsgate.
Kohn Pedersen Fox drew up the design. The first scheme stopped at 183 meters (600 ft), matching Tower 42, the City's tallest since 1977; a revised version, cleared in January 2006, rose to 202 meters (663 ft) beneath the mast. The scheme drew controversy over how close it would stand to St Paul's Cathedral as seen from Waterloo Bridge, and English Heritage was notably vocal in its concerns. A public inquiry followed, and deputy prime minister John Prescott ruled in the developers' favor. Construction started in 2007, and Skanska carried out the works, completed in January 2011.
Photovoltaic cells on the building produce renewable power, and in January 2010 it earned a BREEAM rating of excellent. A 70,000-liter tank by the entrance holds about 1,200 fish from over 60 species, the biggest privately owned aquarium in the United Kingdom. Diners reach Sushi Samba and Duck & Waffle, a restaurant and sky bar with outdoor terraces, by scenic lifts; the two sit 175 meters (574 ft) up, on floors 38 to 40.
About this model
