17 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Long, low plan
The cathedral is a long, low mass. At the default print size, Print friendly adapts the small parts; a larger print keeps the roofline crisp.
- One piece with the ground
Holy Name Cathedral (Chicago) is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Holy Name Cathedral (Chicago) takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About Holy Name Cathedral (Chicago)
Holy Name Cathedral is the cathedral church of the Archdiocese of Chicago, a Catholic diocese among the largest in the United States, and the seat of the Archbishop of Chicago. The present church was dedicated on November 21, 1875, replacing the Cathedral of Saint Mary, which the Great Chicago Fire destroyed in 1871. An international eucharistic conference was held there in 1926, and Pope John Paul II visited in 1979.
The building was repaired and renovated in 1888, 1968 and 2008, and a 2009 fire badly damaged the roof and caused water damage inside; the cathedral was repaired the same year. In the 1920s, two killings linked to gang wars and likely to Al Capone happened outside the cathedral. Its main entrance has large bronze doors, and inside are a hanging crucifix, the stations of the cross, two ambos decorated with images of the apostles, and a cathedra with panels.
