Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. Canal house at print scale

The museum occupies a canal house, so its facade detail is small. A larger print keeps the front readable, and Print friendly adapts the finest parts to the print scale.

  2. One piece with the ground

The KattenKabinet is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  3. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  4. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The KattenKabinet takes the building color.

  5. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About the KattenKabinet

The KattenKabinet, whose name means Cat Cabinet, is an Amsterdam art museum built around works that depict cats. It occupies a building beside the canal at Herengracht 497, in the Gouden Bocht, or Golden Bend. The collection holds paintings, drawings and sculptures, among them works by Rembrandt, Picasso, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Corneille and Sal Meijer, plus pieces by Ed van der Elsken, Théophile Steinlen and Jože Ciuha.

The house and number 499 next door date from 1667 and were built for Willem and Adriaen van Loon, patrician brothers, with a draw giving Willem number 497. Later residents included Amsterdam mayor Jan Calkoen and pensionary Engelbert François van Berckel, whom John Adams visited while serving as the American ambassador to the Dutch republic. The building was restored in 1985, and Bob Meijer founded the museum in 1990 in memory of John Pierpont Morgan, his red tomcat, named for the American banker J. P. Morgan.
