13 m of the Kharraqan Towers, 4 mm on your shelf
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Carved brick patterns
The walls carry fine geometric relief and rounded corner buttresses. Bigger prints keep this patterning, and a layer height of 0.12–0.16 mm keeps it crisp.
- Very small at default size
A tower this small leaves tiny details on a default print. Choose a larger print size, and use Print friendly to adapt the thin relief, or Full detail on a fine nozzle.
- One piece with the ground
The Kharraqan Towers is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Kharraqan Towers takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Kharraqan Towers
The Kharraqan Towers are two mausolea from 1067 and 1093, in the Kharraqan region near Qazvin, in northern Iran. The eastern tower was built in 1067–68, the western one in 1093. They are noted for early geometric ornament, early double domes, and for being among the earlier tomb towers of the 11th-century Seljuk era.
Each octagonal brick structure is 13 meters (43 ft) high, with sides 4 meters (13 ft) wide. Every tower has eight rounded buttresses, one at each corner, and double-shelled domes: the inner shells survive, while both outer shells are gone. Carved bricks form intricate geometric patterns across the outer walls, together with long inscriptions.
Each tower carries an inscription naming its architect, with a different name on each. Stronach and Young conclude that both names belong to one local, unknown person. Paintings of various subjects decorate the inside walls of the older tomb. The 2002 Bou'in-Zahra earthquake did significant damage to both towers.
