6 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Square chamber and columns
The square chamber is ringed by four corner columns and paired engaged columns, with small scroll and animal capitals. Print friendly adapts these details; Full detail on a larger print keeps the capitals readable.
- Terrace and relief panels
Broad stairs lead to a terrace around the tomb, and framed relief panels cover each face. Layers of 0.12–0.16 mm keep the steps and panel edges crisp.
- One piece with the ground
The Tomb of Ferdowsi is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Tomb of Ferdowsi takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Tomb of Ferdowsi
The Tomb of Ferdowsi is a tomb complex in Tus, in Iran's Razavi Khorasan province. It honors the Persian poet Ferdowsi and combines a white marble base with a decorative edifice above it. Construction came in the early 1930s, and the design draws mainly on Achaemenid architecture, a choice meant to show Iran's culture and history.
Ferdowsi wrote the Persian epic Shahnameh. He was born in Tus and died there in 1020 AD. His writing was not widely recognized while he lived, and admiration came only after his death. For centuries his grave was a minor dome-shrine built by a Ghaznavid ruler of Khorasan, with no permanent building in the garden where his daughter had buried him. In 1934, under Reza Shah, the Iranian government erected a permanent tomb and held a millennial celebration for the poet.
The first design came from the Iranian architect Haj Hossein Lurzadeh. Most credit for the present structure goes to Karim Taherzadeh, whose cubical scheme supplanted the earlier dome. The tomb resembles that of Cyrus the Great, and its Achaemenid style was tied to the cultural and political standing of Iran at the time. After the 1979 revolution, frustration with Mohammad Reza Pahlavi brought the tomb close to destruction at the hands of revolutionaries.
