Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. Long ridged shed roofs

A long run of ridged roofs covers the former train shed. A layer height of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keeps the ridge lines crisp.

  2. Decorated entrance and small dome

The entrance pavilion has a decorated gable, and a small domed canopy stands near the east end. Print friendly adapts these small parts, while Full detail keeps them, better at a larger size.

  3. One piece with the ground

Lackawanna Terminal, Montclair is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  4. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  5. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Lackawanna Terminal, Montclair takes the building color.

  6. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About Lackawanna Terminal, Montclair

Lackawanna Terminal in Montclair, New Jersey, is a former railroad terminal. Built in 1913, it served as the western end of the Morris and Essex Lines' Montclair Branch, within the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad system. A grand ceremony in Montclair marked its opening on June 28, 1913. The station, which had four platforms and six tracks, was the work of architect William Hull Botsford, who died in the Titanic's sinking on April 15, 1912.

Passenger service ran to March 2, 1981; on that date NJ Transit shifted it to a station with one platform at Bay Street. The building then became an enclosed shopping mall and supermarket. The National Register of Historic Places added it on January 8, 1973, listing it as the Montclair Railroad Station, for its architectural and transportation significance.

Jack Chance, a former township historian, has said it met the criteria for three main reasons. First came its architecture, including the tapestry bond brickwork, marble concrete trim, interior brick and tile work and ironwork around the ticket windows. Next was the importance of Botsford as architect, and the third was its role in Montclair Township's history as a transportation center. The property was redeveloped in 1982 as Lackawanna Plaza, a shopping complex.
