5 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Battlements and round tower
The crenellated tops of the tower and walls are tiny and closely spaced. Print friendly simplifies them at small sizes; Full detail on a larger print keeps each notch.
- One piece with the ground
Lambert Castle is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Lambert Castle takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About Lambert Castle
Originally named Belle Vista, Lambert Castle occupies part of Garret Mountain Reservation. The location is Paterson, in Passaic County, New Jersey. Catholina Lambert, who owned a prominent silk mill in Paterson, had it built in 1892 as his home. The Medieval Revival design reflects Lambert’s dream of a house that recalled the castles of Great Britain he remembered from boyhood.
Construction began in 1891 on the slope of First Watchung Mountain, using sandstone and granite, with the sandstone taken from hills around the site. The estimated cost was half a million dollars. An art gallery joined the castle in 1896, along with a 70-foot observation tower built on the cliff crest, and the gallery wing was demolished in 1936. William McKinley, then president, and Vice President Garret Hobart came to the castle in 1898, and D. W. Griffith filmed The Call To Arms on its grounds in June 1910.
Lambert died in 1923, and the family sold it to Paterson’s city government; Passaic County bought it from the city some years later. The county used it for administrative offices and, in 1936, gave one room to the Passaic County Historical Society for a museum, which grew until it filled the first floor. A multimillion-dollar restoration in the late 1990s turned all four floors into a museum and library. On June 3, 1976, the National Register of Historic Places listed it, citing its importance in art, architecture and industry.
