About Landmark 81
Landmark 81, in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, is a supertall skyscraper and the tallest building in Vietnam. Vinhomes, the biggest real-estate developer in Vietnam, was its main investor and developer. The 81-story tower rises 461.2 m (1,513 ft) on the site of the former Newport logistics base, beside the Saigon River's western bank in Thạnh Mỹ Tây ward, just south of Saigon Bridge.
Vinhomes Central Park has the tower at its heart, a $1.5 billion urban development of high-end, mixed-use design. Within the development are a hotel, luxury apartments, a shopping mall, officetel space, restaurants, bars, and an observation deck that spans several stories. The building's shape was partly inspired by a bundle of bamboo sticks, an image that stands as a metaphor for strength in Vietnamese culture.
The ground-breaking ceremony took place on December 13, 2014. By October 2017, construction had reached floor 69, at a height of 270 m (890 ft), already taller than the Bitexco Financial Tower, so it became Ho Chi Minh City's tallest building. Landmark 81 was completed on April 10, 2018, when the final piece of the crown spire went on. The six-floor base opened on July 26, 2018, and the SkyView observation deck, running from floor 79 to floor 81, followed on April 28, 2019.
How it prints
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
| Print size | Landmark height | Scale |
|---|---|---|
| 160 mm default | 124 mm | 1:3,750 |
| 200 mm | 155 mm | 1:3,000 |
| 256 mm | 198 mm | 1:2,344 |

- A very tall, slim tower
- The tower is tall and slender and ends in a thin spire. Print slowly with good cooling. Print friendly adapts the spire to the print scale; Full detail keeps it on a larger print.
- Many stepped setbacks
- The tower narrows in a series of small steps. A layer height of 0.12–0.16 mm keeps each step crisp, and a bigger print size keeps the steps distinct.
- One piece with the ground
- Landmark 81 is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
- In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
- Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Landmark 81 takes the building color.
- File format
- You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About this model
Landmark 81 is one of more than 2,300 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Everything around it is built from OpenStreetMap and Overture map data. If you would rather print the shape from map data, turn off Landmark models in the Buildings settings.
Common questions
Is there a Landmark 81 STL I can download?
Mini Skyline builds the file for you in your browser and exports 3MF, which every major slicer opens. If you need an STL, open the 3MF in your slicer and export it from there.
How big can I print it?
Any print size from 40 mm across. Landmark 81 grows with the print: about 124 mm tall on the default 160 mm print. For a model larger than your printer bed, Project Mode splits the area into tiles.
Is it free?
Yes. Generation runs in your browser, with no account and nothing behind a paywall.
