17 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Keep the tower openings clear
The towers have open arches and small details around their tops. Choose Print friendly to adapt these features at small scales, or use Full detail with a larger print or fine nozzle.
- Preserve pinnacles and buttresses
Small pointed pinnacles and repeated buttresses line the model. A larger print preserves their separation; print slowly with cooling for the slender tips.
- One piece with the ground
Laon Cathedral is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Laon Cathedral takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About Laon Cathedral
Laon Cathedral is a Catholic church in Laon, in the French department of Aisne within Hauts-de-France. Its construction spans the twelfth and early thirteenth centuries, placing it among the early examples of French Gothic architecture. Work began under Gautier de Mortagne in the late 1150s, with the building largely finished by 1230. A growing population had made a larger cathedral necessary. The church was the seat of Laon's diocese until 1802; after the Concordat that year, it became a parish church within the Diocese of Soissons.
The building has a cross-shaped plan, with side aisles beside its nave, transepts, and choir. Unlike the rounded ends of many Gothic choirs, this choir ends at a flat wall. Seven towers were intended, but only five reached the level where their spires would begin. The western pair display sixteen life-size oxen carved in stone within their upper arcades. Except at the nave's western end, the nave and choir use six-part vaults; the transept vaults have four parts. The cathedral received monument historique recognition in 1840 and survived both World Wars without damage.
About this model
Laon Cathedral is one of more than 4,300 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Everything around it is built from OpenStreetMap and Overture map data. If you would rather print the shape from map data, turn off Landmark models in the Buildings settings.
