Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. Latticework base and tower railings

The raised latticework under the building and the railings of the lookout tower are very thin. Print friendly adapts them to the print scale; Full detail or a larger print keeps more, and slow printing helps the tower.

  2. One piece with the ground

The Milford Point Hotel is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  3. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  4. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Milford Point Hotel takes the building color.

  5. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About the Milford Point Hotel

In Milford, Connecticut, the former Milford Point Hotel stands at 1 Milford Point Road, near the tip of Milford Point. George T. Smith built it in 1847 to give travelers who came by the newly finished coastal railroad a seaside vacation. Among seaside coastal hotel buildings still standing in the state, it is one of the oldest. The point lies on the eastern side of the Housatonic River's mouth.

The hotel is a wood-frame building of two and a half stories, with a gabled roof, a clapboarded exterior and a raised foundation hidden by latticework. The front has a porch of a single story under a shed roof, with square Italianate posts and jigsawn brackets. The Italianate features probably come from a major update in 1875. Much of the original interior layout survives.

In the 1930s the hotel and the land around it passed to the state, which created wildlife management and nature preserve areas. The building was a military lookout station in World War II; later it became the visitors center at Milford Point for the coastal center of the Connecticut Audubon Society. Its National Register of Historic Places listing dates from 1988.
