Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. A converted church on its lot

The mosque sits among its neighbors on a city street, so the model reads as a single block rather than a tower. A larger print gives the roofline and wall corners more room.

  2. Layers for a low mass

Print size does more for this model than layer height; 0.12–0.16 mm layers keep the edges clean.

  3. One piece with the ground

Mosque Maryam is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  4. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  5. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Mosque Maryam takes the building color.

  6. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About Mosque Maryam

Mosque Maryam, which also carries the names Muhammad Mosque #2 and Temple #2, is the Nation of Islam's headquarters in Chicago, Illinois. The address is 7351 South Stony Island Avenue, in Chicago's South Shore neighborhood. The building began as a Greek Orthodox church, Saints Constantine and Helen, before that congregation moved out to suburban Palos Hills. Farrakhan's predecessor as head of the Nation of Islam, Elijah Muhammad, bought the building in 1972, with a $3 million loan from the Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi to pay for the conversion.

The main hall is used for meetings; it was the church nave, and its pews were later replaced by seats. An open floor area inside takes prayer rugs for kneeling, and Jumu`ah prayer is held there every Friday, led by the Nation of Islam's Imam. Next door stands the Muhammad University of Islam, a school for boys and girls running from preschool to 12th grade. Farrakhan gave the building the name Mosque Maryam in 1988, the year that school opened.
