7 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Scale up the hall
At the default size the concert hall is small. A larger print, with layers of 0.12 to 0.16 mm, keeps its edges and surface detail clean.
- One piece with the ground
The Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ
Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ, which translates as Music Building on the IJ, is Amsterdam's main hall for contemporary classical music. It stands on the IJ, over the IJtunnel, and Amsterdam Centraal station is a ten-minute walk away. Danish architects 3XN designed the building, which opened in 2005. It replaced Muziekcentrum de IJsbreker at the Weesperzijde.
Inside there is one large concert space and a smaller hall used for conferences, talks and exhibitions. Concerts also take place in the atrium and on three large balconies above the restaurant. The Bimhuis, a venue for contemporary jazz, is part of the building and partly integrated into it. The World Minimal Music Festival and the Holland Festival are held there each year, and expositions of sound art and installations also feature. The Kleine Zaal houses a microtonal 31-TET instrument, the Fokker organ designed by Adriaan Fokker. The venue also runs an education program for children and teenagers.
