Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. A tall, narrow tower

The tower's height is its defining feature, so a larger print keeps the upper floors from becoming fragile. Layers of 0.12 to 0.16 mm and slower printing help the narrow top.

  2. Vertical facade lines

Strong vertical lines run up the facades. Full detail keeps them for a large print; Print friendly adapts them at the default size.

  3. One piece with the ground

The NBC Tower is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  4. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  5. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The NBC Tower takes the building color.

  6. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About the NBC Tower

NBC Tower is an office building on Chicago's Near North Side, Illinois, at 454 North Columbus Drive. Completed in 1989, it rises 37 stories to a height of 191 meters (627 feet). NBC's Chicago offices and studios are in the tower, along with its owned-and-operated station WMAQ-TV. The station's first newscast from its new home aired on October 1, 1989.

Adrian D. Smith, who worked at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, designed it in the Art Deco style, and it echoes 30 Rockefeller Plaza, NBC's global headquarters in New York City. The facades use limestone piers, recessed tinted glass and granite spandrels, and flying buttresses echo the nearby Tribune Tower. A 40-meter (130-foot) broadcast tower and spire tops the building.

The tower has 850,000 square feet (79,000 square meters) of space, plus three parking levels below ground with 261 spaces. A connected four-story building holds radio and television studios. The connected broadcast facility once housed The Jerry Springer Show and The Steve Wilkos Show, and consulates general of India, South Korea, Lithuania and Turkey have offices in the tower.
