About New York-New York Hotel and Casino
New York-New York is a casino hotel with its address in Paradise, Nevada, along the Las Vegas Strip. The resort is built to evoke New York City, with small-scale copies of several New York landmarks, including the Statue of Liberty, and its hotel tower stands for a group of skyscrapers joined together. The tallest of them reproduces the Empire State Building, with 47 stories at 529 feet (161 m). The resort covers an 18-acre site on the northwest corner where Tropicana meets Las Vegas Boulevard.
Work started on March 30, 1995. The $460 million resort opened on January 3, 1997, under a joint venture of MGM and Primadonna Resorts. Neal Gaskin and Ilia Bezansky designed the exterior, working from travel books and architectural drawings instead of visiting New York City, while the design firm Yates-Silverman Inc. sent its own team to the city for eight weeks to study the skyline. The copies measure about one-third of the size of the buildings they depict.
The New Yorker Hotel, The Century, the Chrysler Building and the Manhattan Municipal Building also appear in the skyline, which is meant to stand for the New York City of the 1940s. Until Wynn Las Vegas was finished in 2005, the Empire State replica kept the resort at the top as Nevada's tallest building. The Big Apple Coaster travels around the hotel tower. In 2010 the U.S. Postal Service issued a Statue of Liberty Forever stamp that was supposed to depict the original statue in New York Harbor but pictures the Las Vegas replica instead, after the stamp designers picked a stock photo of the copy in error.
How it prints
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

- Slim spires and coaster rails
- Several slim spires top the towers, and thin roller coaster rails wrap around the base. Use Print friendly to adapt them to the print scale, or Full detail on a larger print with a fine nozzle.
- Window lines on tall towers
- Fine window and floor lines run up the stepped towers. Layers of 0.12–0.16 mm keep them crisp, and a bigger print size keeps them distinct.
- One piece with the ground
- New York-New York Hotel and Casino is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
- In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
- Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. New York-New York Hotel and Casino takes the building color.
- File format
- You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
