4 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Cupola and weathervane
The six-sided cupola and the slim weathervane above it are the finest upright details. Print friendly adapts them to the print scale; slow printing and a 0.12–0.16 mm layer height help the tip.
- Fine clapboard lines
The walls and roof carry rows of thin lines. Full detail on a larger print keeps them visible; at a small size, Print friendly softens them.
- One piece with the ground
North Salem Town Hall is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. North Salem Town Hall takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About North Salem Town Hall
The town hall of North Salem, in Westchester County, New York, is a historic building. Stephen De Lancey, a New York lawyer from a prominent Loyalist family, had it built around 1770. Government and education have been its roles since 1773.
The building has three stories of clapboard-covered frame, with five bays across the front and three along the sides, with a fieldstone foundation beneath, and the style is vernacular Georgian. Its gambrel roof supports a cupola with six sides. Over the years a large porch was added, though the exterior went back to its first design after World War II.
De Lancey hoped to build a manor house equal to the Van Cortlandts'. He moved in during 1773 but within months left for New York City as political tensions rose before the American Revolutionary War, and he never lived in the house again. Local Patriots took the building in 1776 for use as a courthouse and jail. A private boys' school, the North Salem Academy, occupied it from 1790 to 1884, and after 1886 it held the town offices. In 1980 it gained a place on the National Register of Historic Places.
