13 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Two slender towers
The two front towers have small arched openings near the top. Print friendly adapts these small openings to the print scale; Full detail keeps them on a larger print, printed slowly for the tower tops.
- Ribbed roofs and tall windows
The long roofs carry fine ribs and the walls have tall narrow windows. Layers of 0.12–0.16 mm keep them crisp.
- One piece with the ground
Nouméa Cathedral is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Nouméa Cathedral takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About Nouméa Cathedral
Nouméa Cathedral stands in Nouméa, New Caledonia. It is a Catholic church dedicated to Saint Joseph, known in French as Cathédrale Saint-Joseph de Nouméa. The Archdiocese of Nouméa has had its seat here since 1966; that archdiocese came from raising the earlier Vicariate Apostolic of Nouvelle-Calédonie. The monument historique classification dates from August 20, 1992, and 28 stained glass windows show saints and Biblical figures.
A former prisoner, a certain Labulle, drew the plans, and convicts did the labor, between 1887 and 1897. The cathedral was meant for the Vicar Apostolic of Nouvelle-Calédonie, whose office dated from 1847, as his seat. Père Xavier Montrouzier, who was almoner of the hospital, blessed the building on October 26, 1890, and it opened on the next All Saints Day. Monseigneur Julien Vidal, Vicar Apostolic of Fiji, consecrated it in 1893, when the facade and bell towers were not yet entirely finished.
Its Latin cross plan measures 56 m (184 ft) in length, and the transept spans 36 m (118 ft). The building is 15.5 m (51 ft) high. On either side of the porch rise towers of 25 m (82 ft), crowned by stone balustrades. Spires were first planned for the towers but dropped, given how common cyclones are. Dressed stone forms the towers, buttresses and door and window surrounds, and the other walls are lime-mortared rubble masonry. Red kauri wood makes up the woodwork and the vaults, and the roof is corrugated metal.
