3 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Keep the curved roofs smooth
The adjoining hangars have curved roofs, with a long raised strip on one roof. Use 0.12–0.16 mm layers to retain the curves, and choose a larger print to preserve the small roof and facade details.
- One piece with the ground
The Oakland Aviation Museum Hangars is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Oakland Aviation Museum Hangars takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Oakland Aviation Museum Hangars
Ron Reuther established Oakland Aviation Museum in 1980. Located in Oakland, California, on the airport's North Field, it was previously named Western Aerospace Museum. Its first public home was a room within Hangar 5, where it opened in 1986. A Short Solent arrived in 1987, followed by a move to Building 621. That building dates to 1940 and formerly housed the Boeing School of Aeronautics. A Lockheed Electra joined the collection in 1989, adding another aircraft to the museum's holdings.
The museum presents civilian and military aircraft from different eras alongside displays about aviators and innovators. Its galleries examine Oakland's aviation history and that of the surrounding area. An aircraft engine room is among the exhibits, along with displays covering Jimmy Doolittle, the Tuskegee Airmen, naval aviation in the United States and women in aviation. Other subjects include the Eighth Air Force and airlines such as World Airways, Trans International Airlines and Transocean Air Lines. Events include days when aircraft cockpits are open.
About this model
The Oakland Aviation Museum Hangars is one of more than 4,300 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Everything around it is built from OpenStreetMap and Overture map data. If you would rather print the shape from map data, turn off Landmark models in the Buildings settings.
