About One Liberty Place
One Liberty Place is a 61-story skyscraper, 288 m (945 ft) tall, in Center City, Philadelphia. It is part of the Liberty Place complex, which also holds Two Liberty Place (58 stories, 258 m or 848 ft), the 14-story Westin Philadelphia Hotel and the two-story Shops at Liberty Place. A gentlemen's agreement had kept buildings in Center City below the William Penn statue crowning Philadelphia City Hall until 1984, when the developer Willard G. Rouse III announced a complex with two towers taller than City Hall. The plan drew great opposition.
Despite that, One Liberty Place was approved. It broke ground on May 13, 1985, and on September 10, 1986, it overtook every other structure in Philadelphia in height. The topping-off ceremony came on December 12. Its spire was added in 1987, and the first phase was completed that year. The two towers stayed first and second in height among Philadelphia's buildings until 2007, when the Comcast Center was topped off.
The architect Helmut Jahn designed Liberty Place with his firm, Murphy/Jahn. The towers, made of steel and blue glass, were strongly shaped by the Chrysler Building in New York City, above all in the spire, which is made of gabled angular setbacks. Critics received the complex enthusiastically, and it led to other tall skyscrapers; the architecture critic Paul Goldberger described Philadelphia's skyline as one of the most appealing of any major American city.
How it prints
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
| Print size | Landmark height | Scale |
|---|---|---|
| 160 mm default | 77 mm | 1:3,750 |
| 200 mm | 96 mm | 1:3,000 |

- Gabled crown and thin spire
- The crown steps in with small gables and ends in a thin spire. Printing slowly and letting layers cool helps the tip, and layers of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keep the gables crisp.
- Fine window grid
- The shaft carries a fine grid of window lines. A larger print size keeps more of it, and Print friendly adapts the finest lines to the print scale.
- One piece with the ground
- One Liberty Place is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
- In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
- Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. One Liberty Place takes the building color.
- File format
- You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About this model
One Liberty Place is one of more than 2,300 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Everything around it is built from OpenStreetMap and Overture map data. If you would rather print the shape from map data, turn off Landmark models in the Buildings settings.
Common questions
Is there a One Liberty Place STL I can download?
Mini Skyline builds the file for you in your browser and exports 3MF, which every major slicer opens. If you need an STL, open the 3MF in your slicer and export it from there.
How big can I print it?
Any print size from 40 mm across. One Liberty Place grows with the print: about 77 mm tall on the default 160 mm print. For a model larger than your printer bed, Project Mode splits the area into tiles.
Is it free?
Yes. Generation runs in your browser, with no account and nothing behind a paywall.
