Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. A tall, slender tower

Lighthouse towers are tall and slender, so the tower is the part to watch. Print slowly with good cooling and a layer height of 0.12–0.16 mm, and use a larger print size to keep the top neat.

  2. One piece with the ground

The Point Amour Lighthouse is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  3. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  4. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Point Amour Lighthouse takes the building color.

  5. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About the Point Amour Lighthouse

The Point Amour Lighthouse sits beside Forteau Bay in the Strait of Belle Isle, at the hamlet of L'Anse Amour in southern Labrador, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Completed in 1857, it is Atlantic Canada's tallest lighthouse and the second tallest in Canada as a whole, at 33 m (109 feet).

It was part of a group of four lighthouses put up in the 1850s to make passage safer as more steamships crossed between Europe and the new world. Limestone from local quarries was used for the cylindrical tower, which is white with a black band. Timber and brick had to be shipped to L'Anse au Loup from Quebec, then carried four miles to the site. It is designated a Provincial Historic Site and belongs to the series called Imperial Towers.

The residential part of the lighthouse, also completed in 1857, was renovated and is a museum. A Marconi Station once stood on the site, and only its foundations survive. The focal plane of the second order Fresnel lens is 46 m (152 feet) above sea level, and the light shows for 16 seconds followed by a pause of 4 seconds.

About this model

The Point Amour Lighthouse is one of more than 5,500 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Each model is written as code from public descriptions, plans, photographs and aerial views used only as references; no image or third-party model is copied into it. Everything around it is built from OpenStreetMap and Overture map data. Rights in the building itself, its name and any brands on it are not granted by Mini Skyline; clear them separately before you sell prints. If you would rather print the shape from map data, turn off Landmark models in the Buildings settings.
