4 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Fine roof and wall detail
A church has small windows and roof details that can blur at a small size. "Print friendly" adapts them to the print scale; "Full detail" with a larger print and 0.12–0.16 mm layers keeps more.
- One piece with the ground
Saints Sergius and Bacchus Church is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Saints Sergius and Bacchus Church takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About Saints Sergius and Bacchus Church
Saints Sergius and Bacchus Church, also called the Abu Serga Church, is in Old Cairo and ranks among Egypt's oldest Coptic Christian churches. Athanasius founded it in the late 7th century. He came from Edessa in Syria and was a scribe to Abd al-Aziz ibn Marwan, the Umayyad governor of Egypt. He gave it to Sergius and Bacchus as their church, the saints having been martyred at that spot. The church was erected in the middle of what remained of the Roman fortress at Babylon.
The church is also called the Church of the Cave. Beneath the sanctuary lies a crypt that tradition identifies as a shelter for the Holy Family, who are said to have rested here on the way from Bethlehem to Egypt. The building sits on a 6.5-meter wall of limestone, said to be a leftover from the old entrance to the Amnis Traianus canal, which the Romans built in the second century. Numerous patriarchs and Coptic bishops were chosen here, a practice that began with Patriarch Isaac and lasted until the mid-eleventh century.
Architecturally it is an early case of Coptic basilica design. Its basilica plan has a central nave beneath a raised roof, flanked by two side aisles, with a narthex as the entrance and rows of marble columns dividing the spaces. The sanctuary is raised a few steps and holds three altars. The wooden ceiling curves like an upturned ship's hull, and the door panels and iconostasis carry ivory-inlaid woodwork in geometric patterns.
