Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. Thorn relief and cross

The towers are clad in projecting stone points, and a slender cross tops the detached bell tower. Print friendly groups the finest points; Full detail on a larger print keeps them sharp.

  2. Apse arches

The rounded apse has open arch bays of different widths under a curved roof. At small scales Print friendly softens the narrow openings; a larger print keeps the arcade readable.

  3. One piece with the ground

The Sanctuary of Arantzazu is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  4. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  5. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Sanctuary of Arantzazu takes the building color.

  6. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About the Sanctuary of Arantzazu

The Franciscan church at Arantzazu, in Oñati, part of the Basque Country in Spain, is a shrine of Our Lady. Its namesake, the Virgin of Arantzazu, is a patron saint of the province along with Ignatius of Loyola. The church stands where the Virgin is said to have appeared to Rodrigo de Balanzategui, a shepherd, in 1468, and the Basque words for an abundance of thorns supplied the name.

Construction of the new basilica started in 1950, and five years later the building was inaugurated. Luis Laorga and Francisco Javier Sáenz de Oiza led the architecture, while several other artists took part: Jorge Oteiza made the Apostle sculptures, Lucio Muñoz made the altarpiece, Eduardo Chillida the gates, Nestor Basterretxea the crypt paintings and Xabier Álvarez de Eulate made the stained-glass windows.

The Aizkorri mountain range gives the shrine its highland setting, and walking trails leave from it toward the Urbia meadows, the Aizkorri and the Aloña massif. Pope Leo XIII granted the image a canonical coronation on June 6, 1886, and the feast of the Virgin is September 9. Even during Franco's repression, the Franciscan convent remained a center for Basque culture.
