Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. Rose window and corner tower

The rose window on the facade and the small tower beside it are fine details. Print friendly adapts them to the print scale; Full detail keeps them on a larger print.

  2. Long roof with fine ridges

The steep nave roof carries many thin ridge lines. A layer height of 0.12–0.16 mm keeps them crisp.

  3. One piece with the ground

St. Francis of Assisi Cathedral, Metuchen is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  4. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  5. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. St. Francis of Assisi Cathedral, Metuchen takes the building color.

  6. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About St. Francis of Assisi Cathedral, Metuchen

In Metuchen, New Jersey, St. Francis of Assisi Cathedral is the Catholic seat of the Diocese of Metuchen. Pope John Paul II set up the diocese on November 19, 1981, and St. Francis became its cathedral. The parish traces back to a small frame mission church from 1871, dedicated to St. Joseph.

The parish was incorporated on January 26, 1878, and a fire on December 21, 1903 destroyed its church. A second wooden church was dedicated in December 1904. By 1960 the parish had grown to more than 2,000 families, and plans were made for a new church. Ground was broken on July 24, 1961, and the new church opened with a dedication on May 19, 1963.

The cathedral is a Gothic Revival building with seating for about 1,000 people. Limestone forms its interior walls, with marble wainscotting; terrazzo covers the floors and oak was used for the woodwork. Italian marble was carved for the altars, and a bronze crucifix above the altar forms part of the baldacchino. The facade has a rose window.
