13 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Church detail at scale
A church facade carries its smallest detail in moldings and openings. Print friendly adapts those parts at a small size; Full detail keeps them for a larger print or a finer nozzle.
- Layers for facade bands
Layers of 0.12–0.16 mm keep the roofline and horizontal facade bands crisp.
- One piece with the ground
St. Michael's Church, Munich is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. St. Michael's Church, Munich takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About St. Michael's Church, Munich
St. Michael's, a Jesuit church, stands in Munich, the capital of Bavaria, Germany. No Renaissance church north of the Alps is larger, and its style strongly influenced early Baroque architecture in southern Germany. William V, Duke of Bavaria, built it as a Counter Reformation spiritual center, with work running from 1583 to 1597; it was consecrated after fourteen years of construction.
The first stage ran from 1583 to 1588 and followed Il Gesù in Rome as its model; its barrel vault spans more than 20 meters, and only St Peter's Basilica in Rome has a larger vault. The tower collapsed in 1590, destroying the newly completed quire, and the second phase continued until 1597, when Friedrich Sustris had added a new quire, a transept and the facade.
The church measures 78.2 meters in length, 20.3 meters across and 28.2 meters in height. Bronze statues of Duke Wilhelm and earlier Wittelsbach rulers form a family tree on the facade, and Hubert Gerhard's large bronze statue of the Archangel Michael stands between the two entrances. The crypt holds the tomb of Eugène de Beauharnais and members of the Wittelsbach dynasty.
