  1. Tower and facade detail

A tall church model carries fine detail in the tower and facade. Print friendly adapts it at small sizes; Full detail keeps it for a larger print or a finer nozzle.

  2. Layers for tall walls

Layers of 0.12–0.16 mm keep the vertical wall lines crisp; print slowly if the model is tall and narrow.

  3. One piece with the ground

St. Michael's Church (Michel) is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  4. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  5. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. St. Michael's Church (Michel) takes the building color.

  6. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About St. Michael's Church (Michel)

St. Michael's Church, known locally as the Michel, is one of the five Lutheran main churches in Hamburg and among the city's best-known churches. It is counted among northern Germany's most important Protestant Baroque churches and was built from the outset as a Protestant church. The church takes its dedication from the Archangel Michael, and a large bronze statue over the main entrance depicts the archangel defeating the devil.

Its 132-meter Baroque spire is covered with copper and has long been a landfall mark for ships coming up the Elbe. The present building is the third at the site: the first went up between 1647 and 1669 and burned down after a lightning strike on March 10, 1750. The second church was designed jointly by Johann Leonhard Prey and by Ernst Georg Sonnin; it was inaugurated in 1762 and finished with its tower in 1786.

Fire broke out inside the tower on July 3, 1906, while workers were soldering damaged copper plates. The church was rebuilt in its previous form with a steel-and-concrete structure under Julius Faulwasser and reopened on October 19, 1912. With 2,500 seats it is the largest church in Hamburg; its Latin cross plan measures 44 m (144 ft) across, 52 m (171 ft) in length and 27 m (89 ft) in height.
