11 m of the Stratford Point Light, 3 mm on your shelf

Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. Railing and lantern on top

A thin railing rings the gallery and small rods stand above the lantern. Print friendly adapts them to the print scale; Full detail keeps them on a larger print, and a layer height of 0.12–0.16 mm keeps them crisp.

  2. Slender tapered tower

The tower is a narrow tapered cylinder, so printing slowly with good cooling helps the upper gallery come out cleanly.

  3. One piece with the ground

The Stratford Point Light is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  4. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  5. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Stratford Point Light takes the building color.

  6. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About the Stratford Point Light

Stratford, Connecticut is home to Stratford Point Light, a historic lighthouse in the Lordship area, near the Housatonic River's mouth. It occupies 4 acres (1.6 ha) at the southeastern end of Stratford Point. Its second tower was one of the earliest prefabricated cylindrical lighthouses nationwide.

A first lighthouse went up in 1822. In 1855 its wooden tower, 28 feet (8.5 m) tall, received a fifth order lens. In 1881 the old tower and its dwelling were demolished, and a cast-iron tower lined with brick, 35 feet (11 m) tall, took their place, fitted with a third order Fresnel lens. A modern beacon automated the light in 1970.

The list of head keepers for the station begins with Samuel Buddington, who served from 1822 to 1843, and also includes Amy Buddington, who held the post from 1848 to 1861. The National Register of Historic Places added the lighthouse in 1990.
