Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. A small octagonal tower

The octagonal tower has fine banded detail below a pointed cap. Print friendly adapts small details like these to the print scale; Full detail keeps them on a larger print, and 0.12–0.16 mm layers keep them crisp.

  2. Layered roofs with wide eaves

Several hipped roofs overlap, and their eaves reach out past the walls. A bigger print size and slower printing help the edges come out cleanly.

  3. One piece with the ground

The Temple of the Tooth is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  4. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  5. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Temple of the Tooth takes the building color.

  6. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About the Temple of the Tooth

The Temple of the Tooth (Sri Dalada Maligawa) is a Buddhist temple set in Kandy, in Sri Lanka. It forms part of the former Kingdom of Kandy's Royal Palace Complex, and the Buddha's tooth relic is kept there. The temple is a World Heritage Site, chiefly because of the temple and the relic it holds. Rituals take place three times a day: dawn, noon and evening. The Kandy Esala Perahera is held every year to pay homage to the relic.

Looking after the relic fell to the monarch, so over the years its custodianship came to represent the right to rule the island, and reigning monarchs built temples for the tooth relic close to their royal residences. Vira Narendra Sinha built the present-day temple. During Sri Vikrama Rajasinha's reign, the moat and the octagonal Paththirippuwa were added. Credit for the Paththirippuwa goes to the royal architect Devendra Moolacharya. The king first used it for recreation, and it was later offered to the relic; it houses the temple's library.

A brick wall beside the moat and the Bogambara lake, called the water waves wall, has holes built in for coconut-oil lamps. The gate that serves as the main entrance, over the moat, is the Mahawahalkada, and at the foot of its steps lies a moonstone, the Sandakada pahana, carved in Kandyan architectural style. The main shrine has two stories, Palle Malaya (the lower floor) and Udu Malaya (the upper floor). A golden fence around the temple complex and a golden canopy above the main shrine date from 1987.
