About United States Post Office Phoenix
The federal government built this post office between 1932 and 1936 on North Central Avenue (number 522) in Phoenix, Arizona. It also goes by Federal Building-U.S. Post Office. Lescher and Mahoney designed it in the Spanish Colonial Revival style. In 1983 it joined the National Register of Historic Places.
Locally, the building is significant in two areas: architecture, and politics and government. As architecture it shows how federal design was adapted to a regional tradition, here Spanish Colonial Revival. It was one result of a large federal building program that began in the late 1920s. After a site was chosen in 1931, the Phoenix firm of Lescher and Mahoney received the commission for a six-story building meant to house all of the city's federal services, but the building that opened has two stories. Its doors opened on September 29, 1936.
For more than thirty years it housed the main Phoenix post office, alongside federal judicial offices and several federal agencies. Treasury Department murals were installed in its lobby a few years after opening. The building belongs to the Downtown Phoenix Campus of Arizona State University and houses student organizations, counseling services and administrative offices, as well as the ASU Police Department, and the first floor has a USPS location.

- Ribbed roof and arched windows
- The low roof has fine ribbing, and rows of tall arched windows line the front wall. Print friendly adapts these to the print scale; Full detail keeps each one, which suits a larger print.
- Crisp wall relief
- Window frames and trim stand out only slightly from the walls. A layer height of 0.12 mm keeps this relief readable.
- One piece with the ground
- United States Post Office Phoenix is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
- In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
- Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. United States Post Office Phoenix takes the building color.
- File format
- You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
