Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. Many small roofs

The mansion is a cluster of wings, with many small roofs and a tower-like gatehouse. Full detail keeps them on larger prints, while Print friendly adapts the smallest ones at small sizes.

  2. One piece with the ground

The Vanderbilt Museum is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  3. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  4. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Vanderbilt Museum takes the building color.

  5. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About the Vanderbilt Museum

In Centerport, on Long Island's North Shore in Suffolk County, New York, stands the Vanderbilt Museum. It carries the name of William Vanderbilt II (1878-1944) and occupies his former estate, Eagle's Nest, which covers 17 ha (43 acres). His will left the property to the county, on condition that the mansion and grounds house a museum for his collections of marine, natural history and ethnographic items.

The estate was built in three installments between 1910 and 1936. First came a 24-room Spanish revival mansion by the New York firm Warren and Wetmore, one of the two firms behind Grand Central Terminal. The complex also includes a marine museum, a boathouse, a seaplane hangar, a curator's cottage and gardens. The natural history institution was established in 1950, and the county built a planetarium on the grounds in 1970.

The collections cover furnishings and fine art in the mansion, plus marine and natural history specimens such as butterflies, birds, shells, mammals and fish. An ethnographic collection includes firearms and swords, ship models, and objects from Europe, Asia and Africa. In 1985, on September 26, the museum joined the National Register of Historic Places.
