Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. Relief on a long facade

A palace front like this reads through shallow relief, and that is what a small print loses first. Larger prints, or Full detail, hold the window rows and the roofline better than a small one at 200 mm.

  2. One piece with the ground

The Vienna State Opera is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  3. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  4. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Vienna State Opera takes the building color.

  5. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About the Vienna State Opera

The Vienna State Opera is both an opera house and an opera company in Vienna, Austria, and it was the Ring Road's first major building. It is a 1,709-seat house in the Renaissance Revival style, built between 1861 and 1869 to plans drawn up by Eduard van der Nüll and August Sicard von Sicardsburg, with designs by Josef Hlávka. It opened as the Vienna Court Opera with Mozart's Don Giovanni on May 25, 1869, with Empress Elisabeth and Emperor Franz Joseph I present.

The public did not take to the building at first. Compared with the Heinrichshof it seemed to lack grandeur, and after work had begun the Ringstraße in front of it was raised by a meter; the house looked to many like a sunken treasure chest. Eduard van der Nüll took his own life, and Sicardsburg died of tuberculosis barely ten weeks later, so neither architect saw the building finished.

The house took its present name with the First Austrian Republic in 1921. Its orchestra is the pool from which the Vienna Philharmonic draws its members, and the building also houses the Vienna State Ballet, with the Vienna Opera Ball held there each carnival season. An American bombardment on March 12, 1945 set auditorium and stage alight, destroying sets and costumes for more than 120 operas; the foyer, the main stairways and Moritz von Schwind's frescoes survived, and the house reopened on November 5, 1955.
