4 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Crisp block edges
A church built from concrete blocks depends on clean edges and corners. Use 0.12 to 0.16 mm layers to keep them crisp, and choose Print friendly if you print it small.
- One piece with the ground
The Wotruba Church is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Wotruba Church takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Wotruba Church
The Wotruba Church, also known in English as the Church of the Most Holy Trinity, is a Catholic church in Liesing, in Vienna. The Austrian sculptor Fritz Wotruba designed it, and construction ran from August 1974 to October 1976. Margarethe Ottillinger started the project and chose a site that formerly held Nazi barracks; she wanted the new church to stand as a strong statement of religion and art as secularization grew.
The design drew inspiration from Chartres Cathedral and belongs to the Brutalist style. The church is assembled from 152 concrete blocks, has no visible symmetry, and uses clear glass windows to let in light. Artificial marble forms the altar, and the bronze crucifix copies one that Wotruba designed for a church in Bruchsal, Germany. Wotruba died before the building was complete, and the planning architect, Fritz Gerhard Mayr, saw the rest of the work through.
