The print covers 28 by 28 km. On a 160 mm print the summit stands 30 mm above the valleys.

  • Taller than life

The print opens with the Elevation multiplier at 1.5, so the mountain stands 1.5 times its true height and its shape reads clearly at this size. Set it to 1 for true scale.

  • The trail

The Senaru route prints as a raised 1.2 mm orange line, drawn from its OpenStreetMap route. Give it its own filament color, or turn it off on the GPX tab.

  • Colors

Forest, meadow, bare rock, ice and water each get their own color where the land has them, so a multi-color printer shows where the trees give way to rock.

About Mount Rinjani

Mount Rinjani is an active stratovolcano on the Indonesian island of Lombok. At 3,726 metres (12,224 ft) it is the second-highest volcano in Indonesia.

Beside it lies a 6 by 8.5 km caldera holding the blue crater lake Segara Anak, at about 2,000 m, with a young cone, Barujari, rising from it.

The Senaru route

Trekkers can visit the caldera rim, go down to the lake or make the harder climb to the summit. The easiest route starts at Senaru, on the north side.

The print draws the Senaru route from OpenStreetMap up to the caldera.

Common questions

Is the Mount Rinjani 3D print free?

Yes. The generator runs in your browser and exports a 3MF file you can open in any common slicer. There is no account or payment.

Is the Senaru route on the print?

Yes. Print this mountain adds it from its OpenStreetMap route (20 km as mapped) and raises it on the terrain. The footprint is 28 by 28 km, centered on the summit and wide enough for all of it.

Is the mountain printed at its true height?

It starts at 1.5 times its true height, about 30 mm of relief on a 160 mm print, because true scale looks flat at this size. Set the Elevation multiplier to 1 for true scale, or higher for a more dramatic model.

Can I get an STL instead of a 3MF?

The generator exports 3MF, which keeps each color as its own part. Any slicer can open it and save an STL if you need one.
