7 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- One big hall on the base
The arena is a single large box, so its outside comes down to the roof and four wall faces. Print it larger to keep the wall edges and the roof line crisp.
- Even faces on long walls
Tall flat faces show layer lines and blemishes. Layers of 0.12–0.16 mm and a little extra cooling help the sides come out clean.
- One piece with the ground
Copper Box Arena is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Copper Box Arena takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About Copper Box Arena
Built for the 2012 Summer Olympics, the Copper Box Arena is a venue for several sports, set in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London. It was first known as the Handball Arena and was renamed because it also staged the modern pentathlon, with fencing, shooting, swimming, horse jumping and a run, and goalball at the 2012 Summer Paralympics. The new name reflects the look of the building.
The building was finished early in 2011, on schedule and under budget. The design uses light pipes and rainwater collectors to cut energy and water use by 40 percent. In January 2012 the Handball Arena was renamed the Copper Box, since it would not be used for handball alone, and British Handball campaigned to have the change reversed. The arena has 7,000 seats; during the Games it held handball preliminaries and modern pentathlon fencing, and goalball at the Paralympics.
After the Olympics the venue was adapted for community sport, athlete training and major events. The London Lions basketball team moved there for the 2013–14 season, its women's team followed in 2017, and the London Pulse netball team, playing in the Superleague since 2018, use it as their home arena. The arena has also held boxing, table tennis, professional wrestling, esports and tennis, and hosted a Fed Cup tie between Great Britain and Kazakhstan in April 2019.
