23 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- A wide, smooth dome
The roof is one broad curved surface, so layer lines can show on the slope. A layer height of 0.12 to 0.16 mm in the slicer keeps the curve smooth.
- Thin rim and entrance blocks
A slim rim circles the roofline and small stair and entrance blocks sit around the base. Print friendly adapts them to the print scale; Full detail keeps them, which suits a larger print.
- One piece with the ground
Fukuoka Dome is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Fukuoka Dome takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About Fukuoka Dome
Fukuoka Dome is a domed baseball field in Chūō-ku, Fukuoka, Japan, also known by the sponsored name Mizuho PayPay Dome Fukuoka. The Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks play there. Construction finished in 1993, and the stadium opened on April 2 of that year. It was Japan's earliest stadium with a retractable roof, and no other baseball park in the country had one until Es Con Field Hokkaido opened in 2023. Within the Pacific League, the largest primary home stadium is this one.
The dome belongs to the Hawks Town entertainment complex, which also includes the Hilton Fukuoka Sea Hawk Hotel. It stands near Momochi Beach, and Tōjinmachi Station on the Fukuoka City Subway is 15 minutes away on foot. The building is recognized for a steel retractable roof weighing 12,000 tons, plated with 3 millimeter titanium. The roof was designed to open from the side, like that of Pittsburgh's Civic Arena, which has since been demolished. Because the machinery uses so much electricity, the roof is rarely opened. Takenaka Corporation and Maeda Corporation are listed as its architects.
The stadium was the main venue of the 1995 Summer Universiade, hosting the opening ceremonies, the baseball tournament and the closing ceremonies. Hiromi Makihara of the Yomiuri Giants pitched a perfect game here on May 18, 1994, the only one ever thrown at the stadium. Frank Sinatra gave his last public concerts here, on December 19 and 20, 1994.
