13 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Slat bands and crown
Diagonal slat bands and the bronze slat crown repeat around the drum at shallow depth. Print friendly adapts them to the print scale; Full detail on a large print keeps the rhythm.
- The hotel's leaning top
The hotel crescent ends in a broad leaning face above the lower block. Give that edge a larger print and a 0.12–0.16 mm layer height so the slope reads cleanly.
- One piece with the ground
Nokia Arena (Tampere) is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Nokia Arena (Tampere) takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About Nokia Arena (Tampere)
Nokia Arena, in Tampere, Finland, is an indoor venue for ice hockey and big cultural events; its non-sponsored name is Tampere Deck Arena. Two SM-liiga clubs, Ilves and Tappara, play their home games there. It was the first arena anywhere to use LED dasher boards. The building belongs to a larger scheme on a deck over a railway line, whose plan includes offices, commercial space, a hotel, housing and a casino.
The City Council of Tampere gave its approval on May 19, 2010, and after delays building work started in January 2018. Daniel Libeskind designed the overall vision for the development. The arena was finished by December 2021, ready for the 2022 IIHF World Championship, and its official opening came on December 3, 2021; the first scheduled events were local Finnish Championship League matches on December 3 and 4. Lapland Hotels opened a hotel next door on December 12, 2021.
Under a ten-year sponsorship deal announced in March 2020 with the UROS Group, the building would have been called UROS LIVE, which raised a small scandal in Finland: uros is the Finnish word for male. The deal was terminated on October 28, 2021, and on November 19, 2021 Nokia was named as the new sponsor. In 2022 the arena staged the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championships, and it did so again in 2023.
