About 3200 Central

Great American Tower is the formal name of 3200 Central, a high-rise office building that stands on Central Avenue, in Phoenix's Uptown area in Arizona, United States. It was built in 1985 and has 24 floors and a height of 320 feet (98 m). It was Phoenix's sixth-tallest building when it was completed. Oxford Properties developed the tower, as it did the neighboring 3300 North Central Avenue, with Westbrook Construction as contractor and Skidmore, Owings & Merrill as architect.

Like its neighbor, the building sits rotated by 45 degrees against the street grid. It has eight sides, with each of its four corners cut off at a 45-degree angle. Designed in the Postmodern style, it has exterior columns and spandrels that make the tower look angular and repetitive. Its top floor is smaller than the floors below and is ringed by a balcony, apart from the 45-degree corners.

How it prints

Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

Landmark height and scale at three print sizes
Print size Landmark height Scale
160 mm default 26 mm 1:3,750
200 mm 33 mm 1:3,000
256 mm 42 mm 1:2,344

Fine vertical ribs
Rows of slim vertical ribs run up all sides. A layer height of 0.12–0.16 mm keeps them crisp, and a larger print keeps more of them.
Railed balcony at the top
A thin railing rings the rooftop balcony. Print friendly thickens thin parts like this for the print scale; Full detail keeps every post on larger prints.
One piece with the ground
3200 Central is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. 3200 Central takes the building color.
File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

Common questions

Is there a 3200 Central STL I can download?

Mini Skyline builds the file for you in your browser and exports 3MF, which every major slicer opens. If you need an STL, open the 3MF in your slicer and export it from there.

How big can I print it?

Any print size from 40 mm across. 3200 Central grows with the print: about 26 mm tall on the default 160 mm print. For a model larger than your printer bed, Project Mode splits the area into tiles.

Is it free?

Yes. Generation runs in your browser, with no account and nothing behind a paywall.
