About 99 Hudson Street
In Jersey City, New Jersey, 99 Hudson is a condominium tower of 79 stories, and no other building in the city or the state is taller. China Overseas America, which is the American arm of a company based in Hong Kong, developed it as the firm's first residential project in the country. It holds 781 condominium units, from studios to three bedrooms.
Perkins Eastman designed the tower, which stands 274 m (900 ft) tall and takes up an entire city block downtown. The facade is limestone and glass, echoing Art Deco style. The grounds include three open plazas, and a podium eight stories high carries a rooftop garden. Large-windowed storefronts run along the sidewalk between limestone piers.
The first plans, released in March 2014, showed twin towers, but once the land had a new owner they became a single tower of 290 m (950 ft). Construction began on January 29, 2016, the tower topped out in September 2018, and residents began moving in during November 2020. The finished height is just one foot above the limit that would have avoided FAA approval.
How it prints
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

- Slender shaft, notched crown
- The tall, slim tower ends in a notched crown. Printing slowly and using 0.12 to 0.16 mm layers helps the top stay clean, and a larger print gives the notch more material.
- Ribs down the facade
- Fine vertical ribs run down the shaft. Print friendly keeps them printable at small scale; Full detail suits a larger print.
- One piece with the ground
- 99 Hudson Street is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
- In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
- Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. 99 Hudson Street takes the building color.
- File format
- You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
