8 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Print the building larger
This low building needs a larger print for its roofline and facade detail to read; 0.12 to 0.16 mm layers keep the wall detail clean.
- One piece with the ground
The Academy of Arts, Berlin is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Academy of Arts, Berlin takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Academy of Arts, Berlin
The Academy of Arts is a state institution for the arts in Berlin. Its task is to promote art, advise and support Germany's states. The present academy was founded on October 1, 1993, when the previously separate academies of East and West Berlin were reunited. It moved into a new building on Pariser Platz, on the site it had used before.
The academy's predecessor began in 1696, when Elector Frederick III of Brandenburg set up the Brandenburg Academy of Arts, a place where members could meet and exchange ideas. During the 1690s and after, the Prussian Academy of Arts worked as a council for the arts and a learned society; it was Europe's third-oldest academy of its kind.
The general assembly nominates new members by secret ballot, and the president appoints them; membership is capped at 500. The institution operated as a training school from its founding, and in 1931 its academic arm was separated out and grew into the Berlin University of the Arts. The academy also holds the estate of painter Otto Dix, including 4,000 index cards covering his works and around 300 letters addressed to him.
