About Ahern Hotel

Ahern Luxury Boutique Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, started life as the Lucky Dragon, a hotel with a casino; the casino has since closed. The resort covers 2.5 acres (1.0 ha); its address is 300 West Sahara Avenue, one block to the west of the Las Vegas Strip's northern end. The Golden Steer restaurant is on one side and Allure Las Vegas, a condominium tower that opened in 2008, on the other. Its land had originally been earmarked for a second Allure tower, a plan cancelled because of poor economic conditions.

Ed Vance & Associates Architects designed the Lucky Dragon; the project was revealed in February 2012, and ground was broken in May 2015. Penta Building Group built it. The hotel tower topped out on September 11, 2015, while the casino and a six-story parking garage were still being built. Its exterior wall used ruby red glazing. A soft opening followed on November 19, 2016, and the formal grand opening came on December 3, 2016.

Asian concepts strongly inspired the resort, which aimed to appeal to Asian customers, expected to be its main clientele. Its 203 rooms and casino of 27,500 square feet (2,550 m2) made it seem small beside nearby competitors. After low turnout, the casino and restaurants closed temporarily in January 2018 while the hotel stayed open, and the hotel itself closed on October 2, 2018. Don Ahern bought the property in April 2019 and brought the hotel back later that year under the name Ahern Hotel.

How it prints

Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

Landmark height and scale at three print sizes
Print size Landmark height Scale
160 mm default 8 mm 1:3,750
200 mm 10 mm 1:3,000
256 mm 12 mm 1:2,344

A slim bridge between buildings
A thin bridge links the hotel block to the wider building. Print friendly adapts thin parts like this to the print scale, and a larger print size keeps the bridge sturdier.
Stacked floor edges
The wide building's side shows stacked, thin floor edges. Layers of 0.12–0.16 mm keep them crisp, and Full detail keeps every ledge.
One piece with the ground
Ahern Hotel is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Ahern Hotel takes the building color.
File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About this model

Ahern Hotel is one of more than 2,300 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Common questions

Is there an Ahern Hotel STL I can download?

Mini Skyline builds the file for you in your browser and exports 3MF, which every major slicer opens. If you need an STL, open the 3MF in your slicer and export it from there.

How big can I print it?

Any print size from 40 mm across. Ahern Hotel grows with the print: about 8 mm tall on the default 160 mm print. For a model larger than your printer bed, Project Mode splits the area into tiles.

Is it free?

Yes. Generation runs in your browser, with no account and nothing behind a paywall.
