5 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- A large, low complex
The archives occupy a large block, so roofs and street facades are small at the default size. Print larger than the default or choose Full detail, and use 0.12–0.16 mm layers for the roofline.
- One piece with the ground
The Archives Nationales (France) is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Archives Nationales (France) takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Archives Nationales (France)
The Archives Nationales are the national archives of France, preserving the French state's records apart from those of the armed forces and foreign affairs ministries, which keep their own archive services. They also hold local secular and religious archives from the Paris region seized during the French Revolution, the records of Paris notaries spanning five centuries, and private collections donated by families, industrialists and historical figures.
Their holdings are among the world's largest and oldest archival collections, and they work from two sites in and around Paris. The historical site, in the Medieval Marais district at the heart of Paris, keeps the state's physical records from before the Revolution and the Paris notaries' records from every period. A newer site at Pierrefitte-sur-Seine, north of Paris, opened in 2013 and holds state records from the Revolution onward as well as private archives.
The National Archives were created during the French Revolution in 1790. A decree of 1794 required the state to gather pre-Revolution private and public papers seized in the Revolution, and a law of 1796 set up departmental archives across France; in 1800 the institution became an autonomous body of the state. Its oldest original document is a papyrus dated AD 625, a charter of King Chlothar II confirming a land grant to Saint-Denis Abbey.
