103 m of Bahntower, 28 mm on your shelf
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- A tall office tower
At small print sizes the facade detail of a tall high-rise can blur. Print it larger for clarity, and use layers of 0.12 to 0.16 mm for crisp vertical edges.
- One piece with the ground
Bahntower is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Bahntower takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About Bahntower
The Bahntower, also written BahnTower or Bahn-Tower, is a 26-story skyscraper on Potsdamer Platz in Berlin. It stands 103 meters (338 ft) tall and was built between 1998 and 2000. Its office space covers 22,000 square meters (240,000 sq ft) and serves as the headquarters of Deutsche Bahn, the German railway.
Helmut Jahn designed the tower. Sony first owned it as part of its Sony Center complex, and in February 2008 Morgan Stanley and other investors bought that complex, tower included, for €600 million. Deutsche Bahn planned in 2007 to move to a new headquarters outside Berlin Hauptbahnhof, but the project fell through and the company extended its Bahntower contract. After Morgan Stanley's real estate funds ran into trouble, the buyer of its stake in 2010 was South Korea's National Pension Service.
Glass panels on the facade caused problems. In 2007 and 2008 small pieces dropped onto the street from cracks in its facade, and in 2016 a pane fell onto a car below; it measured 30 cm by 150 cm (1 ft by 5 ft). In 2016 the tower also appeared in the Berlin skyline scene of the Lego Architecture series.
About this model
Bahntower is one of more than 4,400 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Everything around it is built from OpenStreetMap and Overture map data. If you would rather print the shape from map data, turn off Landmark models in the Buildings settings.
