About Banner University Medical Center Phoenix
Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix, which used to be Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center (nicknamed "Good Sam"), is a non-profit teaching hospital providing acute care in Phoenix, Arizona. It is among the flagship facilities of the Banner Health System. Its affiliation is with the University of Arizona's Colleges of Medicine, in Phoenix and in Tucson. It carries American College of Surgeons verification as a Level 1 Trauma Center, and a helipad sits on the roof.
The hospital began in 1911, when Lulu Clifton, a Methodist Deaconess from Nebraska, founded the Arizona Deaconess Hospital in a rented downtown Phoenix apartment building. A permanent building on McDowell Road and 10th Street opened to the public in 1923, and the modern complex sits on that site. Good Samaritan Hospital became the name in 1928.
Ground was broken in 1978 for a hospital tower of 12 stories and 720 beds, which opened in 1982. Chicago architect Bertrand Goldberg, known best for the Marina City complex, designed it in his signature ultra-modern manner. With it, Good Samaritan became the largest hospital in Arizona up to that point. After Banner merged with the University of Arizona, the hospital was renamed in 2015.

- Scalloped walls and rooftop clutter
- The tower's curved, ribbed walls carry rows of small window openings, and the roof has several small blocks. Print friendly adapts these to the print scale; Full detail keeps them, best at a larger print size.
- One piece with the ground
- Banner University Medical Center Phoenix is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
- In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
- Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Banner University Medical Center Phoenix takes the building color.
- File format
- You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
