4 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Blind arches and window reveals
An octagonal brick body with deep round-headed windows, paired blind arches and a low eight-hip roof topped by a small cross. Print friendly adapts the window reveals and blind arches; 0.12 to 0.16 mm layers keep that relief crisp.
- One piece with the ground
The Baptistery of Neon is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Baptistery of Neon takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Baptistery of Neon
The Baptistery of Neon, known too as the Orthodox Baptistery, is a Roman religious structure in Ravenna, in northeastern Italy. It is the oldest monument left in the city, and part of it was built where a Roman bath once stood. Bishop Ursus began the octagonal brick building in the late 4th or early 5th century, as part of a great basilica that was destroyed in 1734.
Bishop Neon completed the baptistery late in the 5th century and added its mosaics. The eight-sided plan, used in nearly every Early Christian baptistery, stands for the week's seven days and for the Resurrection and eternal life. Inside, John the Baptist appears in the ceiling mosaic, baptizing Jesus waist-high in the Jordan River, with Zeus personifying the river, while a procession of the twelve apostles moves in two directions and finishes as Saint Peter meets Saint Paul.
The original floor lies about 3 meters below ground. Ravenna has eight structures on the UNESCO World Heritage list, and this is one of them. An ICOMOS assessment called it the finest, most complete surviving example of an early Christian baptistery.
