Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. A small building at default size

This is a low block rather than a tower, so at the default print size its frontage takes up very little height. Printing larger shows the front better, and layers of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keep its edges clean.

  2. One piece with the ground

The Bataclan is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  3. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  4. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Bataclan takes the building color.

  5. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About the Bataclan

The Bataclan is a music venue in Paris's 11th arrondissement, at 50 Boulevard Voltaire. It started out as a large café-concert built in the Chinoiserie style, with a café and a hall for shows at street level and a big dance hall on the floor above, and it opened under the name Grand Café Chinois. The name comes from an operetta by Jacques Offenbach, Ba-ta-clan, and it also plays on a French expression, tout le bataclan.

The building was designed by the architect Charles Duval in 1864, and it opened on February 3, 1865, managed by André Martin Paris. The singer Paulus bought it in 1892, the year Buffalo Bill Cody performed there. Its fortunes changed repeatedly: the auditorium became a cinema in 1926, fire broke out in 1933, and part of the building was demolished in 1950 to meet new safety rules. The cinema closed in 1969, and the auditorium returned to use as a performance hall.

Rock bands began playing there in the 1970s, and a long list of performers has followed, among them Kraftwerk, Phish, Dream Theater, Soft Machine and Genesis. On November 13, 2015, a coordinated terrorist attack hit the venue while Eagles of Death Metal were playing; the hall closed for repairs and reopened a year later with a Sting concert. The front was repainted in its original colors in 2006, though the pagoda roof is gone.

About this model

The Bataclan is one of more than 4,400 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Everything around it is built from OpenStreetMap and Overture map data. If you would rather print the shape from map data, turn off Landmark models in the Buildings settings.
