  1. A broad, low library

The library sits low across its site rather than rising, so its roofline and walls carry most of the detail. Print friendly adapts the smallest parts; a larger print preserves them best.

  2. One piece with the ground

The Berlin State Library is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  3. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  4. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Berlin State Library takes the building color.

  5. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About the Berlin State Library

Berlin State Library is a universal library based in Berlin, Germany, and belongs to the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation. It dates from 1661, ranks among Europe's largest libraries, and counts as one of the leading academic research libraries across the German-speaking world. Texts, media and cultural works from every field, many languages, all periods and countries enter its collection for academic and research use.

Highlights include the Quedlinburg Itala fragment, a fifth-century manuscript with the oldest biblical illustrations, a Gutenberg Bible, Goethe's main autograph collection, the largest holding of Bach and Mozart manuscripts anywhere, and Beethoven's original score for his Symphony No. 9. By 1905 the library held 1.2 million books and was one of the largest in the world.

At Cölln in 1661 the library began as the Library of the Elector and took the name Royal Library in 1701. Its Bebelplatz home, built from 1775 to 1785, followed designs by Joseph Emanuel Fischer von Erlach and construction by Georg Christian Unger; the Baroque building earned the nickname Kommode. Reunification in 1992 joined the two postwar institutions into one library with two homes.
