142 m of City-Haus, 38 mm on your shelf
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Window rows and corners
A tall office tower has many repeated window rows and sharp corners. Print friendly detail adapts them at small scales, and a larger print keeps the facade rhythm readable.
- Layers for straight edges
Use layers of 0.12 to 0.16 mm so the tower's vertical edges and roof line stay crisp, and print slowly on a tall print.
- One piece with the ground
City-Haus is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. City-Haus takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About City-Haus
City-Haus is a 42-story skyscraper 142.1 meters (466 ft) tall in Frankfurt's Westend-Süd district. Johannes Krahn and Richard Heil designed it, and construction ran from 1971 to 1974. From 1974 to 1976 it held the title of Frankfurt's tallest building, until Westend Gate was built. The tower is part of DZ Bank's headquarters complex.
The tower is also called Selmi-Hochhaus after Ali Selmi, its Persian owner. A fire started in the upper part of the building's shell on the night of August 23, 1973. It burned for eight hours because the Frankfurt Fire Department was not equipped to fight a fire on that scale. Arson was blamed at first but ruled unlikely; defective welding tools apparently set woodwork alight on the 40th and 41st floors. The fire became a starting point for modern fire protection in Germany.
The structure has a reinforced concrete frame with a central core and two offset wings, each 40 meters long and 14.1 meters wide. A renovation between October 2007 and December 2008 gave the tower a new façade and cut energy use by around 35 percent. DG Bank bought the tower in 1976 and set up its headquarters there.
About this model
City-Haus is one of more than 4,400 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Everything around it is built from OpenStreetMap and Overture map data. If you would rather print the shape from map data, turn off Landmark models in the Buildings settings.
