Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. One tall spire

The tower and its spire carry the whole silhouette. Print slowly with good cooling so the narrow top stays straight, and use Full detail if the print is big enough for the fine work near the top.

  2. Layers along the taper

The spire narrows over a long distance, so layer lines track its edges. Layers of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keep the taper crisp and the steep sides free of visible steps.

  3. One piece with the ground

Frankfurt Cathedral (St. Bartholomew) is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  4. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  5. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Frankfurt Cathedral (St. Bartholomew) takes the building color.

  6. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About Frankfurt Cathedral (St. Bartholomew)

Frankfurt Cathedral, whose official name is the Imperial Dome of Saint Bartholomew, is a Gothic Roman Catholic church in central Frankfurt am Main, in Germany, dedicated to Saint Bartholomew. It ranks as the largest religious building in Frankfurt, once a collegiate church. The English name is misleading: the city has never had a bishop's seat, so the church has never actually been a cathedral, and Dom, like the Italian Duomo, names a town's main church.

A church has stood on the site since the Salvator Basilica of the royal palace, founded on September 1, 852 by Louis the German, the East Franconian king, and consecrated by Rabanus Maurus, Archbishop of Mainz. The present church was built in the 14th and 15th centuries. After Charles IV issued the Golden Bull in 1356, Holy Roman emperors were chosen here as Kings of the Romans, and from 1562 to 1792 the emperors-elect were crowned in the church.

Fire destroyed the church in 1867 and it was rebuilt in its present style. In the Second World War the interior burned out completely, and reconstruction followed in the 1950s. The spire rises 95 meters (312 ft). Nine bells hang in the tower and weigh 23,384.5 kg together; all were cast in Dresden by Hermann Große in 1877. Four of them strike the clock, two on the quarter hour and two on the hour.
