About Derzhprom
Derzhprom, also written Gosprom, is an office building on Freedom Square in Kharkiv, Ukraine. It follows the Constructivist style and counted as the Soviet Union's first modern skyscraper when it was completed in 1928. The name shortens two words that together mean State Industry, and its English names include the Palace of Industry and the State Industry Building. Its grand opening was held on November 7, 1928.
Samuel Kravets, Mark Felger and Sergei Serafimov were the architects, and the work took only three years. It was among a handful of showcase projects from the time when Kharkiv served as capital of the Ukrainian SSR. When finished, it was the world's most spacious single structure, and nothing surpassed it until the 1930s. Its symmetry can be sensed from only one spot, at the center of the square. Concrete construction, overhead walkways and interlinked individual towers made it highly innovative, and its offices had electrical lighting, air conditioning and radio points.
Filmmakers, among them Sergei Eisenstein in The General Line, used the complex as a symbol of modernity. When Kharkiv was the capital, the building held the Council of People's Commissars and many government departments. From the 1950s, one of its towers served as a television center, and a TV relay tower was added on the roof. It joined UNESCO's tentative World Heritage list in 2017 and received provisional enhanced protection from UNESCO in 2022.
How it prints
Make this print opens the generator on a 700 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
| Print size | Landmark height | Scale |
|---|---|---|
| 160 mm default | 28 mm | 1:4,375 |
| 200 mm | 35 mm | 1:3,500 |

- A slender mast on the roof
- A thin relay mast rises above the stepped towers. Print slowly with good cooling, use layers of 0.12–0.16 mm, and let Print friendly adapt the mast to the print scale.
- Narrow walkway bridges
- Overhead walkways link the towers at height. Print friendly adapts narrow parts like these; Full detail keeps them, which suits a larger print or a fine nozzle.
- One piece with the ground
- Derzhprom is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
- In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
- Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Derzhprom takes the building color.
- File format
- You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About this model
Derzhprom is one of more than 2,300 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Everything around it is built from OpenStreetMap and Overture map data. If you would rather print the shape from map data, turn off Landmark models in the Buildings settings.
Common questions
Is there a Derzhprom STL I can download?
Mini Skyline builds the file for you in your browser and exports 3MF, which every major slicer opens. If you need an STL, open the 3MF in your slicer and export it from there.
How big can I print it?
Any print size from 40 mm across. Derzhprom grows with the print: about 28 mm tall on the default 160 mm print. For a model larger than your printer bed, Project Mode splits the area into tiles.
Is it free?
Yes. Generation runs in your browser, with no account and nothing behind a paywall.
