19 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- The tilted saucer roof
The roof is a shallow dome with a thick rounded fascia, sitting lower at one end than the other. Print friendly adapts the fine fascia line at print scale; Full detail keeps it for a larger model.
- Glazed wall and ring truss
The glass wall leans outward under the roof on mullions and transoms, and a dark truss hangs round the oval opening. Layer heights of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keep those members crisp.
- One piece with the ground
Donbas Arena is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Donbas Arena takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About Donbas Arena
Donbas Arena is a football ground in Donetsk, Ukraine, in the Comsomol park near the middle of the city. It opened on August 29, 2009. Work had started in 2006 with the Turkish company ENKA as general contractor, and the building was finished early, yet the grand opening waited until that August date so that it would fall on the Ukrainian holiday of Miners Day and on Donetsk City day. About 1,600 specialists, mainly Turkish, worked on it, and the final cost was $400 million.
ArupSport designed the stadium and Arup Major Projects managed the project. Its oval shape and glazed facade are topped by a roof whose soaring effect makes the building resemble a flying saucer, and the roof slopes from north to south to follow the landscape. It holds 55,187 spectators. Beyoncé gave the opening-night show, part of her I Am... World Tour, and it was her first performance in Ukraine; Shakhtar Donetsk's first match there was a 4–0 win over FC Obolon Kyiv in the Ukrainian Premier League on September 27, 2009.
Donbas Arena was among the venues of UEFA Euro 2012, with group D games plus one quarterfinal and one semifinal. Shakhtar Donetsk's most recent game at the ground was played on May 2, 2014, against Illichivets Mariupol; later that year the building was struck, reportedly by artillery shelling, and since mid-May 2014 it has been closed to the public because of the war in Donbas.
